Date(s) - 04/20/2019
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Grand Junction Central Library (Monument Community Room)
443 N. 6th St - Grand Junction, CO 81501
Please check out and read (if you can) the picture books listed below. If you still have them, bring them with you to the meeting. We will be going through each of them to discuss why they “work” (what makes them great). If you haven’t read them that’s okay. We will be re-reading them at the meeting. This will give us more insight into how to make our own picture books better. There will also be a “checklist” of things to consider that you can take with you afterwards.
Just a note: If you can’t find a copy to check out, many picture books can be found on YouTube. Just go to YouTube and type the title of the book plus “read aloud”.
Picture books to pre-read if possible:
- Little Elliot, Big City by Mike Curato
- Mr. Tiger Goes Wild by Peter Brown
- May I Come In? by Marsha Diane Arnold
- Water is Water by Miranda Paul
- There Might Be Lobsters by Carolyn Crimi
Contact: Wendi Silvano at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
(We promise to have a Connect geared to MG/YA at a later date)
