Getting Readers to Invest in Your Characters with guest speaker Claudia Mills

We care about what happens in a story only if we care about the people to whom it happens. How can writers create compelling characters with whom readers will bond, and for whom readers will find themselves rooting – even if these characters enter the story with significant flaws that may reduce their initial likability? With close analysis of published examples and interactive writing exercises, this workshop will present a wide range of strategies for getting readers to invest in your characters from the first to the final page of your story.
