Plot, Page-Turns, and Pith: All about Picture Book Pacing

The Colorado Springs Connect & Critique, thanks to the support from our RMC SCBWI chapter, is thrilled to announce our next guest speaker: Sylvie Frank, editor at Paula Wiseman Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, will be presenting Plot, Page-Turns, and Pith: All About Picture Book Pacing

What does pacing really mean? What does it mean for a picture book to be “snappy”? And how does plot function in picture books, anyway? We’ll dive into two mentor texts, examining elements that create a well-paced book. In one example, we’ll focus on page turns and middles. In the second, we’ll take a close look at finding just the right ending.

This presentation is offered for FREE and is open to SCBWI members only. Due to limited seating, REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED through the following online form

Please, note that your registration NOT confirmed until you receive an e-mail from us letting you know whether you are registered or waitlisted. You should expect an e-mail within 48hrs.
