No matter what kind of story you’re working on, it’s important to keep the reader engaged and flipping pages. But how do you do that? One of the most effective ways to develop tension and interest is to flesh out your story’s stakes. Author/editor, Ariane Peveto, shares strategies to take your story to the next level by focusing on essential questions writers can use to identify and raise the stakes in their work, as well as uncover any weak or missing plot points.
Remaining time: Critiques. Bring 5-8 copies of a completed picture book manuscript or up to five (5) pages of longer works (CB, MG, YA) for feedback. We also welcome query letters.
