Conference Tips

Need a Ride? Want to Share Accommodations? — Join the closed RMC Facebook page to start a discussion about sharing rides or rooms to reduce your lodging costs. Members can also get great additional information about the chapter, the conference, and other upcoming events. Click HERE to join.

Divide and Conquer — Wish you could clone yourself and attend multiple sessions? Just divide and conquer! Find one or more buddies and decide who will attend which sessions. Take good notes, then swap them after the conference.

Attention Bloggers!  — If you plan to share your experiences from the conference, please note our Blogging & Recording Policy.

Going Green!

We are continuing to try and find ways to take care of the Earth. A consolidated version of the schedule will be provided in your conference folder, but if you would like the full conference brochure, please print your own copies. Thank you for helping us make the world a better place for the children that we write and illustrate for!

Questions? Contact the conference registrar
Jerilyn Patterson

Please note that due to the way the registration system is structured, all sessions (both included and optional) are listed under EVENT EXTRAS. Note that if you want to change your session selection, you must DE-SELECT an option before you will be able to select another one. Thank you for your understanding and patience!

You will not be held to your included session selections (you can change your mind when you arrive), but your selection now will help us when assigning sessions to conference rooms.

Thank you!

Tips for Registering:

* SCBWI members: make sure to sign in with your username and password before you complete registration to take advantage of the member discount.

Open the 2016 Fall Conference schedule in a new window for more details while making your session selections below.

* We accept payments through PayPal or with a debit/credit card. If you choose the option to pay by credit card, PLEASE NOTE the system will take you to the PayPal website, however you do not need a PayPal account to pay with a credit card. Once the system takes you to the PayPal site, choose the option that says "Pay with a debit or credit card." PayPal will then take you to a secure page to enter your credit card information.  If you have special circumstances and need to make payment arrangements different than PayPal or debit/credit card, please contact Jerilyn Patterson at registrar.rmc.scbwi@gmail.com.

* Once you reach the PayPal payment page, you cannot go back and edit your registration–the system will indicate you are attending the event, however your spot is NOT confirmed until payment is complete. If you navigate away from the payment page without paying, complete the following steps to confirm your registration:

1) Log into your SCBWI account on SCBWI.org. This should take you to your profile page if you're not already logged in. If already logged in, you can get to your profile page by clicking on "My Home" in the top right hand corner of any SCBWI page.

2) On your profile page, click on “Event History” (more than halfway down on the left sidebar). This will bring up all the SCBWI events you've attended with the Letters & Lines Conference near the top.

3) The status for Letters & Lines will say something like “Awaiting PayPal Payment.” Click the link to the right and it should take you to the page that allows you to pay either through a PayPal account or with a credit/debit card. (There is a link underneath the PayPal sign-in section that will take you to a secure page to make your payment through credit/debit card.) Once payment is complete, you should receive a confirmation email shortly thereafter and your registration will be complete!
