TAD LINCOLN’S RESTLESS WRIGGLE: PANDEMONIUM AND PATIENCE IN THE PRESIDENT’S HOUSE by Beth Anderson, illustrated by S.D.Schindler, has won the NSCDA 2023 Young Readers Book Award. Beth was also interviewed on Laura Roettiger’s blog.

Congratulations to Whitney L Anderson and her book collection being showcased in The Summit Daily news. Her newest book, THE GREAT ICE CREAM BLIZZARD was actually inspired by Breckenridge, the town she grew up in and was a ski racer. Check out the full article with photos.

Bright Point Press has recently released GODDESSES OF WORLD MYTHOLOGY by Rachel Bithell. This nonfiction guide to female deities from around the world is part of a Hi-Lo series.

Vickie L. Gardner is excited to announce the Spanish version of her first book in her early reader series LAS AVENTURAS DE DARBY–DARBY Y EL DOLLBERRY SE ATREVEN will be released in March 2023. Dow Phumiruk wrote an article on Nonfiction Tips for Nonfiction Fest. Additionally, HER NAME WAS MARY KATHARINE, illustrated by Dow and written Ella Schwartz, has been selected by the National Council for Social Studies’s children’s book council as notable 2023 book title.

KINDNESS IS A KITE STRING by Michelle Schab was selected for the Amelia Island Book Festival February 17-18, 2023. As part of the festival, author Michelle Schaub will be visiting a PreK-2nd grade school to give each student a signed copy.

Natasha Vizcarra has signed with book packager Spooky Cheetah Press to write her first nonfiction science trade book for Children’s Press, an imprint of Scholastic. See Natasha’s work at

Congratulations to Andrea Wang, who will be one of the presenting authors at the Tucson Festival of Books.

A huge round of applause for Anden Wilder, who was one of two illustrators awarded SCBWI’s prestigious Bologna Scholarship. Anden will receive a ticket to the fair, travel to Italy, an accommodations stipend—and the opportunity to show her work at the world’s leading professional fair for children books.
