FRANZ’S PHANTASMAGORICAL MACHINE, by Beth Anderson and illustrated by Caroline Hamel, was featured in the Canadian Children’s Book Centre’s Fall 2022 edition of Best Books for Kids And Teens. Books are selected by expert committees of educators, booksellers, school and public librarians across Canada.

Jennifer Chambliss Bertman’s middle-grade mystery, SISTERHOOD OF SLEUTHS, was one of Amazon’s Top 20 Children’s Books of 2022! Also, her debut picture book, A GOOD DEED CAN GROW, illustrated by Holly Hatam, publishes February 7 by Christy Ottaviano Books/Little, Brown. For more information about her books visit her website. Huge congratulations to member Leslie Colburn, whose story about her three-legged cat, S’more, will be published in CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL: LESSONS LEARNED FROM MY CAT! Author Teresa Funke and her husband are now part-owners of Blue Moose Art Gallery in Fort Collins, Colorado. Congratulations to Vickie L. Gardner for being selected as a finalist in the Hindi’s Libraries 2022 Females of Fiction Contest – 2nd Annual Literary Awards. Her middle-grade novel, THE GHOST OF MORGAN GULCH, received a Silver Award in the Chapter Book category. Learn more about her award here.

Lauren Kerstein’s HOME FOR A WHILE was nominated for the 2022-23 South Carolina Picture Book Award.

Holiday House / Neal Porter has bought world rights to IN THE WORLD OF WHALES by Michelle Cusolito and illustrated by Jessica Lanan for publication in Summer of 2025.

McCourt S. Thomas is happy to announce the publication of her story, THE 19TH ARRGH SEPTEMBER, in the September 2022 issue of Spider magazine, with art by John Nez. The story celebrates International Talk Like a Pirate Day and it is her first publication.

Andrea Wang’s LULI AND THE LANGUAGE OF TEA made the 2022 Nerdy Book Club Awards.
