Martha Freeman’s latest, Curious Kids: Twenty Girls Who Grew Up to be Awesome Scientists, illustrated by Katy Wu, (Simon & Schuster, Paula Wiseman Books) was released in February. Kirkus calls it “inspiring.”


Jim and Stephanie Kroepfl’s YA science fiction book “Merged” won a Pinnacle Book Achievement Award. They are also Finalists for the Feathered Quill Award, and are Nominees for the MPIBA Reading the West Award.


Saint Benedict Press’s TAN Books has purchased the rhyming picture book “E” is for Eucharist: A Catholic ABC by Claudia Cangilla McAdam. Anna-Maria Crum has been signed as illustrator, and publication is slated for spring, 2021. Could there possibly be something for “X” and “Z”? You bet!


Linda Osmundson released her picture book Papa’s Changes, Dementia Through a Child’s Eyes, illustrated by Laura Peters, in October. A granddaughter keeps love alive while her grandfather’s dementia escalates by changing activities to match his declining abilities. Helpful information appears in backmatter. One Single Species: Why the Connections in Nature Matter, author/illustrator Susan E. Jean Reidy’s picture book TRUMAN has been named a 2020 Charlotte Zolotow Award Honor Book.  The Charlotte Zolotow Award is given annually to the author of the best picture book text published in the United States in the preceding year.


Carolyn Rose’s picture book AS BIG AS THE SKY, set in Malawi, Africa, and illustrated by Elizabeth Zunon was released by Sterling Publishing on January 7, 2020. Available on Amazon. Thanks to all my mentors!


Bianca Schulze is excited to announce that her debut picture book, Don’t Wake the Dragon, will be published by Clever Publishing on May 19, 2020! Lisa Trank has signed a one-book contract with Jessica Kasmer-Jacobs of the Deborah Harris Agency for her debut picture book, Manya and Milo: The Dog Who Loves Shabbat.
