“DARE TO DREAM BIG”, a picture book by Lorna Gutierrez, was published by Sourcebooks Jabberwocky on Jan. 7. It has received positive reviews from both Publishers Weekly and Booklist.


Jennie MacDonald’s edited collection, Schabraco and other Gothic tales from The Lady’s Monthly Museum, 1798-1828, is now available for pre-order from Valancourt Books. Originally published for girls attending English boarding schools, The Lady’s Monthly Museum offers a fascinating look at popular culture for young people during Jane Austen’s era.


Cathy Ringler’s middle grade novel MIYA’S DREAM was recently featured on Wyoming PBS. The television segment discussed the bullying issue in our schools and how MIYA’S DREAM can be used to facilitate discussion between parents and children. The book is available at


Kate O’Sullivan at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt has acquired Julie Rowan-Zoch’s I’m a Hare, So There! Rowan-Zoch’s first project as author-illustrator combines fact and funny as it teaches kids the differences between seemingly similar animals. Publication is slated for summer 2021; Marcia Wernick at Wernick & Pratt brokered the deal.
