Beth Anderson’s “SMELLY” KELLY AND HIS SUPER SENSES, THE MOSTLY TRUE STORY OF AN ORDINARY MAN WITH AN EXTRAORDINARY NOSE, illustrated by Jenn Harney, is scheduled for Fall 2020 with Calkins Creek.

 

SAGEBRUSH MEETS THE SHUNS by author Joni Franks won the American Fiction Award for best Children’s Picture Book Softcover 2018 and a FINALIST in three categories by the Colorado Independent Publishers Association. This is the second book in the CORKY TAILS, TALES OF A TAILLESS DOG NAMED SAGEBRUSH book collection.


Jolene Gutiérrez
 was awarded the Cynthia Levinson nonfiction picture book scholarship and invited to attend The Writing Barn’s picture book biography intensive in September.

 

THE GIVING FARMER and THE SAVING FARMER are releasing September 1, 2018 through David C Cook. These stories were written by Erika Pizzo and illustrated by RMC member Josh Lewis.

 

Jennie MacDonald’s literary tale “The Emperor’s New Shoes” was an Honorable Mention in the Children’s/Young Adult Fiction category for the 87th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition, and will be listed in the collection (November 2018).  Her art photo “Turkey Trot” was published in the inaugural issue of The Veggie Wagon Journal, devoted to animals and animal advocacy.

 

Jenny Mason’s latest releases, Electricity: From Benjamin Franklin to Nikola Tesla and Space Exploration: From Galileo Galilei to Neil DeGrasse Tyson, introduce readers to the amazing scientists, inventors, and innovators throughout history whose work shaped these scientific fields. BUDDIES, BULLIES, AND BASEBALL is a new middle grade book by Phyllis J. Perry, published by TCK publications on August 15, 2018.  It is available as a paperback and as an e-book.

Jessica Speer’s middle grade book, BFF or NRF (NOT REALLY FRIENDS)? A GIRLS GUIDE TO HAPPY FRIENDSHIPS, will be published by Familius in Spring 2020.

 

Neal Porter has bought two picture books by Andrea Wang for his imprint at Holiday House. Based on a childhood memory with Chinese immigrant parents, WATERCRESS is scheduled for spring 2020. Caldecott Honoree Jason Chin will illustrate. LULI AND THE LANGUAGE OF TEA will follow, showing that tea can unite immigrant children.
