SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT – Crystal Kite Award
Denise Vega is incredibly honored to announce her picture book, If Your Monster Won’t Go to Bed, has won the Crystal Kite for the South West Division (Nevada, Arizona, Utah, southern Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico). Rachel Delaney Craft’s poem “Peacock on Parade” appeared in the May/June 2018 issue of CRICKET magazine, and her short story “Every Drop of Light” appeared in episode 308 of the YA fiction podcast CAST OF WONDERS.
First Laugh, Welcome Baby, a picture book written by Nancy Bo Flood with Rose Tahe (Dine’) and illustrated by Johnathan Nelson (Dine’), is a Junior Library Guild Selection, 2018. “Debut illustrator Nelson, also of Navajo descent, contributes cartooning that captures an expansive, brilliantly hued outdoors and a close-knit family delighted with their newest addition.” Full review here
