Martha Freeman’s 2018 middle-grade mystery, ZAP! (Simon & Schuster), was nominated for an Edgar award by the Mystery Writers of America. She will be attending the awards ceremony in New York City in April with her editor, Sylvie Frank, who also happens to be her daughter.

 

Jenny Mason’s nonfiction article “The Limber Inventor” profiles the 16-year-old self-taught inventor changing the world with 3D printed robotic prostheses controlled wirelessly via brainwaves. Check it out in the February 2019 issue of Muse! Learn more at jynnemason.com.

 

Esthela Nunez Franco’s self-published debut novel, BreezyGirl, released in January 2019. It captures the unique bond that can form between girls and horses. Follow the author’s journey in this true story of conquering her fears and persevering while learning to ride (and trust) the horse she loves.

 

Patty Cisneros Prevo has won the Lee & Low Books New Voices Award Honor for her manuscript, UNSTOPPABLE. UNSTOPPABLE features athletes with physical disabilities and showcases their athletic accomplishments. Along with the award, Patty has been offered a contract with Lee & Low Books with a pending publication date of Fall 2020.
