Congratulations to the fourteen writers and illustrators accepted into the Michelle Begley Mentor Program for 2017. The mentees this year are Christina Baker, Rachel Craft, Carol Eikleberry, Abby Jacobs, Benita Green Lee, Karen Deger McChesney, Sandra Meagher, Greg Pattridge, Bruce Randel, Lydia Rueger, Alexander Rowe, Julie Ryder, Jessica Speer, and Joseph Wilcox. In addition, congratulation to illustrator Julie Ryder, who was selected by members of the Begley family and the Writing Roosters critique group to receive a scholarship in Michelle's memory.

Books by Claudia Cangilla McAdam are now featured kids’ content and free of charge at subscription-based There’s a six-minute streaming video production of her PB KRISTOPH AND THE FIRST CHRISTMAS TREE (Paraclete Press 2015) and the eBook version of her YA Biblical historical fiction, AWAKENING (Sophia Institute Press 2009).


Prior to Veteran’s Day, Tori Meyer was invited to create an art show at The Hippodrome in Julesburg, Colorado, featuring the illustrations included in the book she wrote: JOURNEY HOME, A THANK YOU TO AMERICAN VETERANS. This is a children’s hardcover book published by Red Bird Journey in October 2015.
